Barbara and Della (5) live a few miles from us in north University City. Barbara is a middle school teacher in Vista, and Della just finished kindergarten. Both are bilingual and travel frequently to Guatemala to practice their Spanish. Della plays so well with Charlie; she's the little sister my boys never got from us!
The "Spinstones", Alan, Teresa, Patrice and Janine, live about 20 miles east of us, on Mt. Helix. Alan, an Australian, is a pharmacist and Teresa is a nurse practitioner. The girls are 18 and 14, smart, sweet, and respectful. Patrice has been a member of the Grossmont High School Choir, which travels to Europe forsummer performance tours, for four years. Janine joined the group last year. They also hosted an exchange student from Ecuador, so Patrice spent several weeks living in South America last summer. Janine is an archer, and a bit of a free spirit. Patrice will be attending UC Davis in the Fall.
Los Angeles Spinosas
John's mom, Patricia, older brother, Bob, and youngest sister, Joan, live in L.A. Pat is a very active retired nurse: she plays cards and dominoes, exercises at the YMCA, and visits San Diego and Las Vegas during lulls in the action. Bob's daughter, Rhonda, lives with Pat so we don't worry about either one of them! Rhonda is a college student at Cal State Fullerton, working to support herself along the way. John's nephew, Chris, also lives in the LA area doing layout design for a major grocery distributor. Rhonda and Chris's dad Bob (Rocket) is a commercial plumber. Joan is also a plumber, working at Disneyland.
